a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Wednesday, 28 May 2014, as a true and correct record.

Earthship Biotecture - Passive, solar, off-the-grid, sustainable housing - Will 'Ilolahia

 

Will ‘Ilolahia spoke in support of the tabled document. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

Resolution number ENV/2014/29

MOVED by Chairperson WD Walker, seconded by Cr ME Lee:  

That the Environment, Climate Change and Natural Heritage Committee:

a)         thank  Will ‘Ilolahia regarding ‘Earthship Biotechture’ – passive solar, off-the-grid and sustainable housing.

b)        support the ‘Earthship Biotechture’ concept and forward the presentation to relevant Council committees and departments (e.g Housing Project Office), Local Boards and Independent Maori Statutory Board for their consideration.

Update on the Integrated Kaipara Harbour Management Group

 

Resolution number ENV/2014/30

MOVED by Cr CE Fletcher, seconded by Deputy Chairperson LA Cooper:  

That the Environment, Climate Change and Natural Heritage Committee:

a)         receive the update on the Integrated Kaipara Harbour Management Group report.

b)        recommend that the Marine Spatial Plan project be considered as part of the Long-term plan process.

Draft Auckland Kauri Dieback Management Strategy

 

Resolution number ENV/2014/31

MOVED by Chairperson WD Walker, seconded by Deputy Mayor PA Hulse:  

That the Environment, Climate Change and Natural Heritage Committee:

a)      recommend that the Regional Strategy and Policy Committee approve the draft Auckland Kauri Dieback Management Strategy.

Resolution number ENV/2014/32

MOVED an amendmend by Deputy Chairperson LA Cooper by way of addition, seconded by Deputy Mayor PA Hulse:  

b)        request the Biosecurity and Regional and Specialist Parks to develop a fully-costed suite of options for the management of Kauri Dieback across the Auckland region which will be considered through the Long-term Plan process.
