That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)         Accepts the apologies from member Brenda Brady and member Tracy Kirkley for lateness and from member Luke Wilson for absence.

Members were reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

a)         Confirms the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 2 July 2015, as a true and correct record subject to the following changes:

a)   b Requests Auckland Transport and New Zealand Transport Agency reduce the speed limit to 70kmpH on Birdwood Road between the existing 50kmPH signs

Community Volunteer Acknowledgements

 

Resolution number HM/2015/109

MOVED by Member WI Flavell, seconded by Member BA Brady:

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a) Hold community volunteer acknowledgement events in November 2015, April 2016 and November 2016.

b) Will recognise volunteers during the acknowledgements section of the public forum meetings scheduled.

c) Nominate the following categories for acknowledgements:

- Community safety and community volunteers November 2015

- Sports, culture and recreation - April 2016.

d) Nominates Member Will Flavell as the lead portfolio holder and Chairperson Vanessa Neeson as alternate for the community volunteer acknowledgements.

Renewal and variation of community lease to The Edmonton Community Kindergarten Incorporated, 247 Edmonton Road, Te Atatu South

 

Resolution number HM/2015/110

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson SP Henderson, seconded by Member BA Brady:

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a) Approves a variation to the renewal of lease to correct the name from Edmonton Community Kindergarten Incorporated to The Edmonton Community Kindergarten Incorporated;

b) Approves the renewal of lease to The Edmonton Community Kindergarten Incorporated for part of the Te Atatu South Community Centre located on Lloyd Morgan Lions Club Park on the following terms and conditions:

i) Term: 5 years commencing 1 September 2015

ii) Rent: $2133 plus GST per annum

c) All other terms and conditions as contained in the existing Deed of Lease dated 29 September 2010 excluding this right of renewal.

Review of Alcohol Bans 2015

 

Resolution number HM/2015/111

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson SP Henderson, seconded by Member TJ Kirkley:

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a) Receives this report.

b) Notes that the board has agreed at the 7 May 2015 business meeting:

to undertake full public consultation, to obtain a greater understanding of the impact of alcohol-related crime or disorder in the current alcohol ban areas

that a hearings panel will hear from members of the public on this issue.

c) Confirms that hearings on this issue will occur on Tuesday, 4 August 2015 in the Council Chamber (level 2) 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson at 9.30 am.

d) Confirms that deliberations on this issue will occur on Tuesday, 4 August 2015 in the Council Chamber (level 2) 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson at 12.00 pm.

e) Notes that the above dates will also be advertised in the Western Leader.

f) Notes the report received in May, which set out the proposal to review alcohol bans in the local board area and outlined the process for the review of alcohol bans.
