A written report from the Chairperson of the Rural Advisory Panel, Cr Bill Cashmore had been circulated to members prior to the meeting.

That the Rural Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from Chairperson BC Cashmore and Member G Wilcox (for absence on Council business); Member M Appleton, Member R Gardner, Member A Maclean, Member L Morgan, Member P Spencer, Member B Steele, for absence.

b)        accept the written report of the Chairperson, Cr Bill Cashmore.

Member Colin Smith (Rodney Local Board) advised that he would be raising an additional item relating to Rural Drainage Issues at the end of the meeting.

Murray Cameron, Principal Growth & Infrastructure Advisor provided a PowerPoint presentation.  A copy has been placed on the minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Mayoral Presentation for the 10-year Budget 2018-2028

 

Mayor Phil Goff addressed the panel on aspects of the LTP, including:

·         transport

·         water quality

·         housing

·         environmental targeted rate

·         corporate property strategy

·         value for money studies

and responded to members’ questions.

Ryan Bradley, Principal Planner - North, West and Islands Planning provided a PowerPoint presentation.  A copy has been placed on the minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

10.1

Additional Item - Rural Drainage Issues

 

Member C Smith raised an issue relating to Rural Drainage Issues in the Rodney Ward and provided a PowerPoint presentation.  A copy has been placed on the minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

The panel discussed the item and it was agreed that the issues experienced in the Rodney Ward also occur in other rural areas across the region.

 

Andrew Chin, Health Waters Strategy and Resilience Manager was available to provide advice.

That the Rural Advisory Panel

a)       receive the additional item on Rural Drainage Issues.

b)      request a co-ordinated report between Auckland Transport and Auckland Council to be presented at a future meeting of the panel.
