Judy Gilbert from Windy Hill - Rosalie Bay Catchment Trust and John Ogden were in attendance to speak to the Goodnature A24 trap project final report.

Aotea/Great Barrier Island Visitor Strategy 2018-2023

 

Resolution number GBI/2018/106

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson L Coles, seconded by Member S Johnson:  

That the Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      adopt the Aotea/Great Barrier Island Visitor Strategy 2018-2023 as presented in Attachment A of the agenda report.

b)      note the Implementation Plan as presented in Attachment B of the agenda report.

c)      approve $25,000 of its LDI budget be allocated to Destination Great Barrier Island (DGBI) to implement the Aotea/Great Barrier Island Visitor Strategy 2018-2023 after a further workshop with the local board to identify year one priorities and actions.

a)      approve the tabled feedback on the Ministry for the Environment’s consultation on the proposed mandatory phase out of single-use plastic shopping bags provided to the Environment and Community Committee on 11 September.

Auckland Transport September 2018 update to the Great Barrier Local Board

 

Resolution number GBI/2018/109

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson L Coles, seconded by Member S Johnson:  

That the Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      note the Auckland Transport September 2018 update report.

b)      request departmental support for the planning in managed retreat for coastal roads and futureproofing for coastal infrastructure.

c)      note its concerns for repetitive roading quality issues and requests quality assurance of all roading practices and materials

d)      approve $20,000 from its Auckland Transport Capital Fund towards the ownership and remediation of fish passages in the culverts on the island.
