6. From item 7 onwards, the newly elected Chairperson chaired the meeting. The

Election of Chairperson

The Chief Executive advised the Board that they must
resolve which voting system they wished to apply for the election of the Chairperson.

Resolution number WHK/2013/329
MOVED by Member PA Walden, seconded by Member RE Ballard:
That the Waiheke Local Board elects a
chairperson for the 2013-2016 political term, utilising System B of Schedule 7, Part 1, Clause 25 of the Local Government Act 2002.

The Chief Executive called for nominations for the position of
Chairperson.
Member Beatle Treadwell nominated Member Paul Walden as
Chairperson. Member Shirin Brown seconded the nomination.
Member Paul Walden was declared elected as the Chairperson of the
Waiheke Local Board for the 2013-2016 political term.

The Chairperson made
his declaration pursuant to Schedule 7,clause 14 of the Local Government Act
2002 and assumed the Chair.

The Chairperson advised the Board that they must resolve

The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy
Chairperson.
Chairperson Paul Walden nominated Member Shirin Brown as Deputy
Chairperson. Member John Meeuwsen seconded the nomination.
Member Shirin Brown was declared elected as the Deputy Chairperson
of the Waiheke Local Board for the 2013-2016 political term.
Secretarial
Note: Waitemata and Gulf Ward Councillor Mike Lee and Albert-Eden-Roskill
Councillor Cathy Casey were invited to address the meeting.
Secretarial Note: Following the close of the meeting at 4.12pm the Waiheke High School
Canto Isola choir provided a short bracket of entertainment. George Kahi, Kaumatua,
led a prayer and blessed the food.
4.12 pm The
Chairperson thanked Members for their attendance and attention to business and
declared the meeting closed.
