Cr Chris Darby left the meeting 11.54am

Cr RI Clow left the meeting at 12.02 pm.

Cr RI Clow returned to the meeting at 12.17 pm.

Cr CE Fletcher left the meeting at 12.21 pm.

MOVED by Cr LA Cooper, seconded by Deputy Chairperson J Watson:  

That the Arts, Culture and Events Committee:

a)         receive the report on traffic management plans for events

b)         thank Richard Saunders, Team Resource Consents Manager and John Strawbridge, Auckland Transport for their attendance and presentation

c)         request officers forward the traffic management at events report to all local boards and Independent Maori Statutory Board for their comment.

Matariki Festival and Southside Arts Festival Update

That the Arts, Culture and Events Committee:

a)         receive the Matariki and Southside Arts Festival updates for 2013

MOVED by Cr LA Cooper, seconded by Cr WD Walker:  

b)         approve the reallocation of the regional arts and culture festival budget for 2014/2015 as follows: Matariki Festival 2014 $252,500 and Southside Arts Festival $252,500.

MOVED by Chairperson AM Filipaina, seconded by Cr CM Casey:  

c)         approve the two signature events for the Southside festivals will go ahead for 2014 and staff report on the “village hub concept for the remaining available budget.

d)         report back on further development of the Matariki festival as a major event (in addition to a signature Maori event).
