Resolution number WHK/2014/47 MOVED by Chairperson PA Walden, seconded by Member RE Ballard: That the Waiheke Local Board: a) Receives the report. b) Supports commencement of consultation on the revised proposal outlined by Auckland Transport for parking at Sandy Bay. c) Supports the concept of car sharing in principle for a trial period, seeks clarification on details of the car sharing organisation, and requests Auckland Transport to explore other locations for the car share parks. d) Supports commencement of consultation on the proposal outlined by Auckland Transport for parking restrictions at Palm Beach.
e) Notes that the “Cycling’s the Go” campaign has been launched and requests that Auckland Transport consider Waiheke Island for inclusion in future initiatives or events such as the “Cycling’s the Go” campaign. g) Requests Auckland Transport to report back on the roll-out of HOP on Waiheke Island. h) Notes Auckland Transport have advised that due to a misinterpretation of the weed management specifications, glyphosate was used with the organic interceptor on the roadside reserve on Waiheke over a short period this year, and that spray margins exceeded the contract specifications of 100mm/150mm. i) Notes that Auckland Transport has now received written assurance that only approved organic herbicides will be used within the roadside reserve. j) Requests additional written assurance that glyphosate and other chemical sprays will not be used (or added to organic herbicides) on any Waiheke roadsides. k) Requests that Auckland Transport instructs the contractor to not spray unnecessarily, in fact deleteriously, wide banks of vegetation and to resume weed-eating around seats rather than spraying long rank grass. l) Requests Auckland Transport provide the Board with a copy of the contract specifications for vegetation management on Waiheke, and ensure operators are trained and monitored to ensure there is no departure from legacy levels of service for roadside weed management. m) Thanks Ivan Trethowen, Auckland Transport Elected Member Liaison, for his attendance. |

Resolution number WHK/2014/48 MOVED by Chairperson PA Walden, seconded by Member BM Treadwell: That the Waiheke Local Board: a) Receives the Rangihoua Wetland Restoration – Baseline Monitoring Results report. b) Requests that the Land and Water Quality team and the Resource and Monitoring team undertake water quality monitoring within the Rangihoua tributaries to include: · a catchment based approach; · upstream flow rates and water quality; · identification of source contaminants; · other issues impacting on the condition of the wetland system. and report results back to the board within five months. |

Resolution number WHK/2014/49 MOVED by Chairperson PA Walden, seconded by Member JP Meeuwsen: That the Waiheke Local Board: a) Recommends to the Regulatory and Bylaw Committee that the Auckland City Council Hazardous Substances Bylaw 2008 not be confirmed, amended or revoked so that on 31 October 2015 the bylaw is revoked by section 63 of the Local Government (Auckland Transitional Provisions) Act 2010.

Resolution number WHK/2014/50 MOVED by Member JP Meeuwsen, seconded by Deputy Chairperson SD Brown: That the Waiheke Local Board: a) Receive the 13 February 2014 Manurewa Local Board resolutions regarding the Local Board Funding Policy. b) Supports the resolution of the Manurewa Local Board, and requests that the Waiheke Local Board resolution of support be forwarded to the Funding Policy political working party. |

Resolution number WHK/2014/51 MOVED by Chairperson PA Walden, seconded by Member RE Ballard: That the Waiheke Local Board: a) Receives the inwards correspondence of the Waiheke Local Board. b) thanks Meriel Watts for bringing the roadside weed spraying issue to the Board’s attention, and notes Auckland Transport’s response to this issue under item 13. c) requests, in relation to the correspondence received from Flynn Washington, that the questions raised be referred to officers for a response back to the Board’s Parks Portfolio holder and Ms Washington. |
