Secretarial Note:  Glenn Boyd, Relationship Manager, chaired the meeting for items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.  From item 8 onwards, the newly elected Chairperson chaired the meeting. 

1 Welcome

The Relationship Manager opened the meeting.

2          Apologies

An apology from Member Neil Henderson for absence was noted.

There were no declarations of interest.

There were no minutes to confirm.

7	Election of Chairperson
	The Relationship Manager advised the Committee that they must resolve which voting system they wished to apply for the election of the chairperson.
	Resolution number WTKSP/2014/1 MOVED by Member GB Presland, seconded by Member DA Yates: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee: a)      Elects a chairperson for the Waitakere Ranges Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee, utilising System B of Schedule 7, Part 1, Clause 25 of the Local Government Act 2002. CARRIED
	The Relationship Manager called for nominations for the position of Chairperson. Member Greg Presland nominated Member Denise Yates as Chairperson. Member Denise Yates seconded the nomination.
	Resolution number WTKSP/2014/2 MOVED by Member GB Presland, seconded by Member DA Yates: Member Denise Yates was declared elected as the Chairperson of the Waitakere Ranges Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee. CARRIED

	Resolution number WTKSP/2014/6 MOVED by Member GB Presland, seconded by Member DA Yates: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee: h)     Grants the application from  Jenny & Tim Ellis, 9 Tawini Road, Titirangi  under the condition that the position and installation of the spa pool is not changed and that a lockable lid that is compliant with NZS8500-2006 is in place when the pool is not in use.  The committee has taken in account that the climbing points created by the piping and the pump box are not compliant with the requirements of FOSPA and NZS 2500-2006 but that the non compliance does not significantly increase the danger to young children. CARRIED
	That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee: i)          Deferred  the following applications to the next meeting of this committee: · Janet Parr, 75 Takahe Road, Titirangi for the reasons:  pending discussion with council officers to find an acceptable solution · Deferred Jim and Anne Leyland for the reasons:  the committee was unable to access the property for inspection
