Resolution number HGF/2014/1 MOVED by Chairperson John Tregidga, seconded by Cr Peter Buckley: That the Hauraki Gulf Forum: a) accept the apologies from Members Shane Ashby and Steve Halley and Councillors Bill Cashmore and Christine Fletcher for absence, and from Members Paul Majurey and Meg Poutasi for early departure.

Resolution number HGF/2014/2 MOVED by Chairperson John Tregidga, seconded by Cr Rob McGuire: That the Hauraki Gulf Forum: a) confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Monday, 9 December 2013, including the confidential section, as a true and correct record.

Michael Marris, Editor of Kookaburra Magazine, Les Mellars of the Kawau Island Residents and Ratepayers (KIRRA) and other Kawau residents, were present to address the meeting at Item 7.

Secretarial Note: In affirming the future direction of the Hauraki Gulf Forum outlined in the report to Item 9, the Forum noted:
· the momentum created through the State of our Gulf narrative (incremental decline from a low base)
· the significance of the prioritised issues which resulted from that analysis (defined as what success would look like)
· the recent progress in addressing those issues through collaborative processes
· the expectations for ambitious outcomes and commitments from the Sea Change marine spatial plan project, about which Independent Chair Nick main provided a briefing
· the necessary contributions of many actors in delivering improved environmental outcomes, as evidenced by community-driven projects on Kawau Island
· the importance of relationships with tangata whenua in developing and implementing this agenda
