1          Welcome/Prayer

 

Member Brenda Brady led the meeting in prayer and the Chair welcomed those present.

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)         Accepts the apology from Luke Wilson for lateness.

a)         Confirms the minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 20 February 2014, as a true and correct record.

a)         Agrees that item 7:Ward Councillor’s update be accorded precedence at this time.

7          Ward Councillor’s Update

 

Councillor Cooper spoke to the board on her commitment to building a swimming pool in the Westgate area. She also reinforced that funds for building swimming pools that are used by more than one local board should be funded by the Governing Body.

 

Member LW Wilson entered the meeting at 5.08 pm.

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

b)         Agrees to adjourn the meeting until 7.00 pm, 6 March 2014 in the Council Chambers, Henderson Civic Centre 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson.

The meeting adjourned at 5.14 pm and reconvened at 7.00 pm.

a)      Recognises and congratulates Nathan Brown, Elizabeth Cui and Liam Stone with regards to the success they each have achieved in the sport of diving.

b)      Thanks the Auckland Diving Community Trust for their input into the successes of Nathan Brown, Elizabeth Cui and Liam Stone and our diving community.

            The Chairperson called for public forum submissions;

Heart of Te Atatu South Community Association

Vicki Nuualiitia and Zooey Neumann updated the board on their activities in Te Atatu South area and requested the board’s support for their upcoming Fun Day in March 2014.

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)    Receives the public forum submission from Heart of Te Atatu South Community Association.

b)    Thanks public forum presenters.

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)    Calls on Auckland Council to implement a Living Wage as a minimum for all its employees, alongside a phased introduction of a Living Wage as a minimum for all contracted workers (as tenders are sought) for services delivered on a regular and on-going basis to Auckland Council.

Hearing dates for the Henderson-Massey Local Board hearings for the Annual Plan 2014/2015

 

Resolution number HM/2014/35

MOVED by Member LW Wilson, seconded by Member BA Brady:  

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)    Approves that the Henderson-Massey Local Board Annual Plan hearings take place on Tuesday, 25 March 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Council Chambers, 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson with an overflow date of Wednesday, 26 March 2014 at 3:00 pm.

b)    Approves that the Henderson-Massey Local Board Annual Plan deliberations take place on Tuesday 17 April 2014 at 3.30 pm in the Council Chambers, 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson.

c)    Approves that the Henderson-Massey Local Board adopts its Local Board Agreement at a meeting held on Tuesday, 19 June 2014 at 3.30 pm in the Council Chambers, 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson.

That the Henderson-Massey Local Board:

a)      Receives the chair’s report

b)      Receives the resignation of Member Tracy Kirkley as Henderson-Massey local board representative on the Waitakere Health Link board

c)      Appoints member Luke Wilson as lead and Vanessa Neeson as alternate representatives of  Henderson-Massey local board to the Waitakere Health Link board.

d)      Approves the final design for the West Harbour Community Hub to be built on the grounds of West Harbour Primary School, 74 Oriel Avenue, West Harbour.

e)      Delegates approval of the contract to construct the West Harbour Community Hub within its approved budget , to the Manager Community Facilities.

f)       Approves the final design for the Glendene Community Hub at 82 Hepburn Road, Glendene.

g)      Delegates approval of the contract to construct the Glendene Community Hub within its approved budget, to the Manager Community Facilities.
