That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 25 February 2014, as a true and correct record.

Mainline Steam Heritage

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         receive the presentation.

b)         thank Luke Niue, Jenni Goulding, Gary Lawson and Stuart Walker, General Manager, Mainline Steam Heritage Trust.

c)         delegates the chairperson to write to the Mayor conveying the advice from the Heritage Advisory Panel that it considers the Mainline Steam building in Parnell, has authentic and important industrial heritage and architectural qualities that should be formally protected and should be retained, with its heritage locomotive and rolling stock collection, as part of the Parnell heritage station complex

d)         acknowledge the heritage assessment for this property contained in the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT) submission on the Unitary Plan, and advise that council officers undertake their own assessment as a matter of urgency, and that this assessment be forwarded to Auckland Property Limited

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         consider the attachment and agree to the items listed.

b)      forward heritage assessments for the Civic Building to panel members.

c)      wait for a response from the Mayor’s office with regards to the Parnell Heritage Station letter before further action is taken.
