2 Confirmation of Minutes
Resolution number RUR/2014/8 MOVED by Cr WB Cashmore, seconded by Member AQ Cole: That the Rural Advisory Panel: a) confirm the minutes of its meeting, held on Friday, 7 March 2014, as a true and correct record.

3 Additional items for consideration, not on the agenda
· Approval process for rural events
· Tabled email to the Rural Advisory Panel regarding delivery of service on unsealed rural roads
· Impact of legacy rules on the ability to get resource consents.

Viv Sherwood provided a PowerPoint presentation. A copy of the presentation has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.
A recommendation regarding Community and Environment Incentives will be made at the Panel’s 2 May 2014 meeting.

a) agree that the Community and Environment Incentives item lie on the table until the 2 May 2014 meeting of the Panel.

The following items identified at Item 3 were briefly discussed:
· Rural events – work is being done regarding a standardised approval process, information will be coming back to Crs Penny Webster and Bill Cashmore, which will then be taken to Council. Work is being done towards improvement.
· Standard of service on unsealed roads email – this is appropriate for consideration as part of the Long-Term Plan (LTP) process. Auckland Transport will be requested to present to the June meeting of the Panel about the contract process, how it is managed and what the criteria is to seal or not seal rural roads.
· Impact of legacy rules on the ability to get resource consents – the Panel has tried to ensure that the Unitary Plan enables a variety of economic activities.

· Sites of significance to mana whenua (Glenn Wilcox and John Duguid)
· Resolution on Rural Awards
· Sustainable catchments programme (June meeting)

The next meeting of the Rural Advisory Panel will be held on 2 May 2014.
