Each application was discussed and received separately.

Resolution number ORSP/2014/25 MOVED by Member CRJ Davis, seconded by Member CH Cooke: a) That the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee receives the application from Malden Holdings Ltd, 1/159 Kohimarama Road, Kohimarama. b) That the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee deems that this application for special exemption under section 6 of the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987 be GRANTED to the property subject to a new door being installed which is self-closing and self-latching at all times opening inwards towards the pool as an alternative solution under NZS8500:2006 (3.10). c) That the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee notes that with regard to the particular characteristics of the property and the pool, the granting of an exemption with the condition does not significantly increase the danger to young children. Resolution number ORSP/2014/27 MOVED by Member CRJ Davis, seconded by Member CC Parkinson: a) That as the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee receives the application from Alistair and Robyn Matthewson, 9A Waiata Avenue, Remuera. b) That the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee deems that this application for special exemption under section 6 of the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987 be GRANTED to the property on condition that the current lock on the bi-fold door is maintained and the door is to remain shut unless opened under adult supervision and the Council supplied warning sticker is to be placed on the door. c) That the Orākei Local Board Swimming Pool Fencing Exemptions Committee notes that with regard to the particular characteristics of the property and the pool, the granting of an exemption with the conditions does not significantly increase the danger to young children.
