That the Rural Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from Trish Fordyce, Richard Gardner, Chris Keenan, Andrew McKenzie, Bill Millar, Helen Moodie, Peter Spencer and Bronwen Turner  for absence and from Glenn Wilcox for absence on council business.

a)         confirm the minutes of its meeting, held on Friday, 2 May 2014, as a true and correct record.

6.3

General Business - Geoff Smith – question/issue for RAP – Unitary Plan/Equine Centre

 

It was agreed that the Item 6.3 – General Business - Geoff Smith – question/issue for RAP – Unitary Plan/Equine Centre be discussed at this time. Warren Maclennan provided a response, encouraging further submissions to the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan.

Rural Broadband - response to 2/5/14 (Geoff Smith) tabled issue

 

Tim Watton, Manager Regional Digital Policy Implementation provided a PowerPoint presentation. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Kaipara River update - Response to (Wendy Clark) issue 2/5/14 meeting

 

Wolfgang Kanz, Senior Stormwater Specialist, was present for this item.

6          General Business

 

6.1

Update on panel’s recommendation re Ballance Awards

 

 

A brief update on the process regarding the panel’s Balance Awards recommendation was provided.

 

 

6.2

Update on Rural Industry Group

 

 

Alan Cole updated the panel on the responses received regarding membership of the Rural Industry Group (RIG). It was agreed that the panel fulfils the need to ensure proper connection with rural industries.

That the Rural Advisory Panel:

 

a)         agree that the Rural Industry Group be disbanded.
