Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

3 Confirmation of Minutes

Resolution number YOU/2014/33 MOVED by Member Anthony Su’a, seconded by Member S Steele: That the Youth Advisory Panel: a) receive the further information regarding council’s processes and procedures for panels.

Mayor Len Brown retired from the meeting at 7.17 pm.

|
The Health and Welfare sub-committees tabled feedback on behalf of the Youth Advisory Panel to the Local Alcohol Policy.
A copy of the tabled documents have been placed on the file copy of the minutes and can be viewed on the Auckland Council website.

Resolution number YOU/2014/34 MOVED by Member A Wong, seconded by Member M Mafile'o: That the Youth Advisory Panel: a) note that staff held workshops on the draft Local Alcohol Policy with local youth councils in the South, West and Central areas and that the feedback from these workshops has been provided to the Health and Welfare sub-committees. b) endorse the feedback from the Health and Welfare subcommittees tabled at this meeting. c) approve the recommendations provided by the Health and Welfare sub-committees of the Youth Advisory Panel and include these in the council officers’ report to the Hearings Panel. e) thank Agnes Wong and Mosa Mafile'o for their work in collating the feedback.

Resolution number YOU/2014/36 MOVED by Member N Montgomerie econded Mackenzie Valgre: That the Youth Advisory Panel: a) thank the subcommittee leads for their updates b) forward the updates for the attention of their respective local youth voice mechanisms c) hold a workshop to discuss the work programme for the year ahead, at the close of the next Youth Advisory Panel on 11 August 2014 d) thank Savanna Steele, Tim Mathews, Marek Townley, Mosa Mafile’o, Micah Stininato, Ginah Vakaheketaha-Nelisi, Janice Auva’a, Ngutu Lata, Chris Tuiloma, Stauny , Catherine Cooper, Council Controlled Organisations and other agencies involved for their work on the ‘I am Auckland’ awards.
