Memorial Seat and Plaque - Browns Bay Beach Reserve

|
An application
for a memorial seat on Browns Bay Beach Reserve was first lodged by Mrs Leoni
Jones in 2000, in honour of her late husband’s family. A further letter
dated 1 September 2014 requesting a memorial seat has been received. Given
the extreme length of time taken to address this issue it was agreed by the
Facilities and Reserves Committee to consider this as a matter of urgency.

MOVED by Member JG Parfitt,
seconded by Member DR Cooper:
That the
Hibiscus and Bays Facilities and Reserves Committee:
a)
consider a request from Mrs Leoni Jones
for a memorial seat and plaque on Browns Bay Beach Reserve at item 12 of this
agenda. The matter was not on the published agenda as it was raised after
publication of the agenda and given the extreme length of time to address the
issue it be dealt with as a matter of urgency.

MOVED by Member JG Parfitt, seconded by Member DR Cooper:
That the
Hibiscus and Bays Facilities and Reserves Committee:
a) support the application by Leoni
Jones for the installation of a seat and plaque on Browns Bay Beach Reserve in
honour of her late husband’s family, in a position to be determined by the
local board after discussion with the family, Tony Strange, Parks Advisor and
the East Coast Bays Returned Services Association.
