Resolution number ENV/2014/45 MOVED by Chairperson WD Walker, seconded by Deputy Chairperson LA Cooper: That the Environment, Climate Change and Natural Heritage Committee: a) thank Andrew Sinclair for his presentation regarding the Citizen Science Pilot project. b) note and commend the proposed Citizen Science Pilot project which is fully compatible with current Auckland Council initiatives to accelerate our work empowering communities to deliver environmental outcomes. c) request officers to respond directly to Whakaupoko Landcare with an evaluation of the proposed Citizen Science Pilot project – in line with the broader Auckland Council “empowering communities” initiative and provide a letter of support for this project.
d) recognise the ongoing support provided by Auckland Council for Whakaupoko Landcare. |

Update on Environmental Activity in the Kaipara Harbour catchment |

Resolution number ENV/2014/48 MOVED by Chairperson WD Walker, seconded by Member L Ngamane: That the Environment, Climate Change and Natural Heritage Committee: a) receive the update on Auckland Council activity in the Kaipara Harbour catchment b) refer the report to the Rodney Local Board and Integrated Kaipara Harbour Management Group (IKHMG) for their information. c) request a report on future resourcing of the IKHMG, through the Long-term Plan (LTP) process 2015-2025. |
