That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from members E Aitken-Rose, S Hughes, J Mathers, C Page, D Beamish and J Matthews for absence and A Dempsy for lateness.

Secretarial note:          The Chair accepted Michael Geale’s resignation letter and tabled both the resignation and acceptance letter at the meeting.

2          Declaration of Interest

 

The following declarations were made:

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday 23 September 2014, as a true and correct record.

5.1

143 White Swan Road, Michael Wood, Puketapapa Local Board

 

 

 

Michael Wood, Lisa Truttman and Garth Houltham was in attendance to present to the Heritage Advisory Panel regarding 143 White Swan Road.

Resolution number HER/2014/32

MOVED by Chairperson ME Lee, seconded by Member L Wilson:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)            thank Michael Wood Puketapapa Local Board, Lisa Truttman and Garth Houltham of the Mt Roskill Historical Society for their attendance and information provided

b)            urges that as the Turret House is a proposed scheduled building, any demolition consent is declined and supports the council exploring all feasible options to preserve the building

c)            advise the council to approach the trust owners and Lynfield College Board to explore options to preserve the building

d)            agree to write a letter to the owners suggesting and supporting a dialogue approach with council.

5.2

Friends of St David's, Paul Baragwanath and Helen Schnabel

 

 

 

Paul Baragwanath and Helen Schnabel was in attendance to present to the Heritage Advisory Panel regarding the Friends of St David’s.

Member L Wilson declared an interest in this item and took no part in the discussion or voting on the matter.

 

 

 

Resolution number HER/2014/33

MOVED by Member G Murdoch, seconded by Member G Burgess:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)            thank Paul Baragwanath and Helen Schnabel, Friends of St David’s Church for their presentation

 

b)            recognises the outstanding heritage value and war memorial status of this building and supports its scheduling through the Unitary Plan process

 

c)            recommends that council offer to mediate with interested parties including Heritage NZ with the intention of securing the future of St David’s Church including the heritage fabric of the building and pipe organ

 

d)            request that this item be reported back to the Heritage Advisory Panel following the progress with resolution c) above

 

e)            agrees that the Chair write to the Presbyterian Church of NZ Property Trustees and Northern Presbytery.

Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI) archaeological culture heritage work - Auckland Transport

 

 

 

Tipa Compain and Matthew Felgate was in attendance to present to the Heritage Advisory Panel regarding AMETI archaeological cultural heritage work.
