1          Welcome/Prayer

The Chairperson opened the meeting and member Tracy Kirkley led the meeting in prayer.

3          Declaration of Interest

4          Confirmation of Minutes

a)         Confirms the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 20 November 2014, as a true and correct record.

7          Ward Councillor’s Update

Councillor Cooper provided updates on the rates transition for the Henderson-Massey local board. She also spoke on the loss of Jack Adam, former Councillor and foundation principal of Massey High school.

There were no deputations.

9          Public Forum

9.1

Chris Mellini

 

 

Mr. Mellini spoke to the board on his initiative to launch a West Auckland Business magazine.

9.2

Debbie Leahy

 

Ms. Debbie spoke to the board on the changes with roles in the Henderson area. Constable Martin Spears will be looking after the area starting 2015.

9.3

John Long

 

Mr. Long spoke to the board on installing traffic calming on Westgate Drive and seeks board’s support on their proposal to Auckland Transport.

10        Extraordinary Business

Allocation of Savings on Community Hubs to Massey Community House Renovations

That the Henderson-Massey local board:

a)    Agrees to consider an extraordinary item under item 16.1

Secretarial note: This item is an item of urgency for the reason that the resolution of this item will be considered at the Finance and Performance Committee meeting on 11th December 2014.

 

6          Acknowledgements

The Henderson-Massey Local Board presented a quilt to Mrs. Anita Kumar and family for the loss of Mr. Kumar in a tragic incidence in Henderson. Member Will Flavell blessed the quilt through a Karakia.

a)    That the : agree to adjourn the meeting until 7.30 pm, in the Council Chamber 6 Henderson-Valley Road, Henderson. The meeting adjourned at 7.30 pm and reconvened at 7.30 pm.

a) Receives the Auckland Transport Quarterly Report.

b) Appreciates the support of our Elected Member Relationship Manager.

Cemeteries Budget Transfer

a)    Agrees to transfer the Henderson-Massey Local Board activity budget, as specified in the table below, to the Regional Governing Body activity budget for green asset maintenance within cemeteries.

16        Consideration of Extraordinary Items

16.1

Allocation of Savings on Community Hubs to Massey Community House Renovations

MOVED by Chairperson VS Neeson, seconded by Member BA Brady:  

That the Henderson-Massey local board:

a)    Request that the Finance and Performance Committee reallocate $165,000 CAPEX underspend from the Glendene and West Harbour Community hubs development to the Massey Community House refurbishment renewal project in 2014/15.

b)    Notes the amount reallocated is from savings made on the construction of Glendene and West Harbour Community Hubs.
