1          Apologies

MOVED by Chairperson F Apulu, seconded by Member M Liu:  

That the Youth Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from Members J Auva'a, D Goh, S Yoon, and Councillor Linda Cooper for absence, Member T Campel for lateness, and Member I Lenihan-Ikin for early departure.

CARRIED

 

Secretarial note:          Member I Lenihan-Ikin formally spoke to her decision to resign from the Youth Advisory Panel.

 

 

2          Declaration of Interest

 

Member I Lenihan-Ikin left the meeting at 6.20 pm.

 

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

 

3          Confirmation of Minutes

That the Youth Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Monday, 3 November 2014, as a true and correct record.

That the Youth Advisory Panel:

a)      note that the upcoming JobFest15 event will take place on 21 February 2015.

Rangatahi tü rangatira: Māori youth leadership in Auckland

 

 

 

Secretarial note:          Changes to the original motion were incorporated under recommendations a) and b), and the addition of c) with the agreement of the meeting.

 

 

 

Member M Roche returned to the meeting at 7.00 pm.

 

 

 

Resolution number YOU/2014/75

MOVED by Chairperson F Apulu, seconded by Deputy Chairperson M Mafile'o:  

That the Youth Advisory Panel:

a)      endorse the Foundation Tāmaki Makaurau Rangatahi Roopu Work Plan 2014/15

b)      appoint a working party (Chairperson F Apulu,  Members M Roche, T Matthews and S Steele) to develop a strategic relationship with the Foundation Rangatahi Roopu on the establishment of a Rangatahi Roopu for Tāmaki Makaurau, until April 2015

c)      congratulate Jason and Savanna and the Virtual Team on their work so far.

Presentation from Youth Delegates on the LocalNZ Workshop

 

This item was deferred until the next Youth Advisory Panel meeting, on 23 February 2015.

Working Party and Sub-committee Updates

 

Recommendations

That the Youth Advisory Panel:

a)      thank the working party/sub-committee leads for their updates

b)      forward sub-committee/working party updates for the attention of respective local youth voice mechanisms

c)      endorse the recommendations provided by the Draft Local Approved Products Policy Statement of Proposal working party

d)      agree that a panel representative will attend the Hearings Panel meeting to present the recommendations.

 

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7.31pm.

The meeting reconvened at 7.38pm. Member M Liu was not present.

 

 

 

Member M Liu returned to the meeting at 7.43 pm.
