The Chairperson welcomed those present and opened the meeting with a prayer.

5 Leave of Absence
There were no leaves of absence.
6 Acknowledgements
The Henderson-Massey local board congratulates the former board member, Assid Corban on his 90th birthday on 1st February 2015 and thank him for his commitment to the Henderson-Massey community and we wish both Assid and Miriam continuing good health.
7 Ward Councillor’s Update
Ward Councillors are given an opportunity to update the board on matters relating to the Henderson-Massey area.
Councillor Coopers updated the board on upcoming changes to the consent and the Long Term Plan Consultation.

9 Public Forum
|
The Chairman invited public forum submissions as following:
Mr Mason spoke to the board on a petition against the proposed dog park at Paremuka Lakeside. He also presented the petition to the board.
Mr. Clarke spoke on the safety of the users of the Paremuka Lakeside if it was used as a dog park in the future.
Mr. Lawford asked the board to consider other options that may be available for the proposed Dog Park in Henderson-Massey local board.
Mr Browne spoke on his concerns around the difficulty of controlling wild dogs if Council proceeds with the Dog Park proposal for the Paremuka Lakeside park.
Mr Wong spoke to the board the cost of putting up a dog park at the Paremuku Lakeside reserve.
Mr Maharjan requested the board’s support on the cost of the Nepalese cultural program.
Ms Faatua requested the board’s financial support towards the Family Day in March 2015. |

Approval of concept design for Ranui Community House Refurbishment |

Resolution number HM/2015/6 MOVED by Chairperson VS Neeson, seconded by Deputy Chairperson SP Henderson: That the Henderson-Massey Local Board: a) Approves the concept design for the refurbishment of the Ranui Community House (Attachment 1). b) Approve the Ranui Community House refurbishment project proceeding to consenting approvals and construction procurement, subject to it being delivered within budget and with no material changes. c) Requests staff negotiate a 2 year license to occupy for the Ranui Community House at its next renewal. d) Prefers a community lease for the café area of Ranui Community House as the café is a not for profit enterprise. e) Prefers to lease the café to the existing operator Ranui Community House Incorporated. f) Requests staff investigate a community lease for the café area of Ranui Community House and the leasing of the café area to Ranui Community House Incorporated. |
