The Chairperson welcomed everyone to the meeting.

MOVED by Member DG Purdy, seconded by Member CM Elliott:   

That the Manukau Harbour Forum accepts the apologies from Members Daryl Wrightson (Manurewa Local Board), Saffron Toms (Waitakere Local Board), and Michael Wood (Puketapapa Local Board) for non-attendance and Lotu Fuli (Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board) for early departure.

That the Manukau Harbour Forum confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Monday, 10 November 2014, including the confidential section, as a true and correct record.

Obituary - Maryanne Tuwha (nee Rapata)

MOVED by Member A Chand, seconded by Member CM Elliott:  

That the Manukau Harbour Forum express sorrow at the passing of Maryanne Tuwha (nee Rapata) on 28 January 2015:  

·      Maryanne Rapata has played a pivotal role in forging a closer relationship between her iwi and the Auckland Council. 

·      As the environmental spokesperson for Makaurau Marae, Maryanne has championed initiatives which contribute to the environmental outcomes for the Manukau Harbour.

·      She was a strong advocate at the inaugural hui for mana whenua at the Manukau Harbour Forum held in 2014.

Manukau Harbour Forum Work Programme Update

 

Tessa Chilala provided a brief presentation on the progress of the work programme and a document updating members on the work programme was tabled. A copy of the presentation and document can be publicly viewed on the Auckland Council website.

 

Resolution number MHFJC/2015/4

MOVED by Member DG Purdy, seconded by Member LT Fuli:   

a)            That the Manukau Harbour Forum agrees to the top three flagship sites identified (and the fourth place being Owens Transport, noting that although Glenbrook polled higher, the onsite measures could not be transferred as learnings to other businesses at this time.

b)            That the Manukau Harbour Forum requests a visit to the Glenbrook Steel Mill and the Manukau Harbour Forum meeting be held there.
