MOVED by Chairperson CE Fletcher, seconded by Cr JG Walker:
That the
Parks, Recreation and Sport Committee:
a) refer
the Kauri tree removal at 40 Paturoa Road, Titirangi to the Auckland
Development Committee meeting of 12 March 2015, as an extraordinary item for
consideration and for the purpose of public interest in this matter
b) invite
Saffron Toms, Waitakere Ranges Local Board member to speak to the item at the
conclusion of item 9 of the agenda
c) agree that discussion on the Kauri tree removal – 40
Paturoa Road, Titirangi be considered as item 11 of the agenda.

Mr Ian Maxwell, General
Manager presented a power-point presentation update on Parks Contract
Management and gave an overview of the report.
Councillor Alf Filipaina
tabled a letter of thanks from the Chief Executive Officer, Touch New Zealand
to Auckland Council in relation to the support they received during the
Touch/Open/Masters National tournament in March 2015.
Ms Jane Aickin, Manager Local
and Sports Parks Central gave a verbal update on oak trees in the Auckland
Domain for the committee’s information.
A copy of the
presentation and letter have been placed on the official copy of these
minutes and can be viewed on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments.
