Purpose

1.       This report seeks the local board’s approval for Chairperson Fairey to attend the New Zealand Planning Institute’s (NZPI) Back to the Future 2015 workshop titled Tools for the Future working with the RMA on Tuesday, 14 April 2015 at the Aotea Centre.

Executive Summary

2.       NZPI’s national conference 14-17 April 2015 are hosting a workshop for Elected Representative and Independent Commissions, titled Tools for the Future working with the RMA.  Speakers include former CEO of Manukau City, Leigh Auton; retired Environment Court Judge Gordon White and RMA expert public sector lawyer Bill Loutit, and Wendy Turvey, who manages the Making Good Decisions training.  The workshop will teach attendees how to operate more effectively and will include interactive sessions, capacity building and networking opportunities. 

 

Recommendation/s

That the Puketāpapa Local Board:

a)      report be received.

b)      endorse the attendance by Chairperson Fairey at the New Zealand Planning Institute’s Back to the Future 2015 workshop titled Tools for the Future working with the RMA.

c)      approve the payment of the workshop fees of $150 including GST from the Board’s Elected Members Training budget.
