That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 24 March 2015, as a true and correct record.

4.1

Extraordinary Business - Takapuna Beach Camping Ground Retention

 

Bill Rayner introduced item 4.1 and sought permission from the Heritage Advisory Panel to include item 4.1 under extraordinary business, item 9 of the agenda.

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)    consider an extraordinary item regarding Takapuna Beach Camping Ground Retention at Item 10.1 of this agenda:

i)       the reason the matter was not on the agenda is that the agenda was produced prior to this matter being raised

ii)     the reason for urgency being that the next meeting is not until 16 June 2015.

Extraordinary Business - verbal update and report back on St David's Church and Portage Ceramics Trust

 

Member L Wilson requested to speak at the end of the meeting to provide a verbal update on St David’s Church and the opening of the Portage Ceramics Trust.

City Rail Link - Update on managing heritage impacts

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the City Rail Link presentation on the management of heritage impacts

b)      thank Greg Milner-White, John Fellows, Martin Walton, Bruce Petrie and Carol Greensmith (Auckland Transport) for their presentation

 

c)      note our concern that new station designs takes into account the existing character and heritage of the respective areas

d)      recommends to Auckland Transport that it considers widening the scope of the Heritage Advisory Group to include heritage issues relating to Britomart, Beresford Square and Mercury Lane.

Update on the Fort Takapuna Barrack Restoration Project

Heritage Manager Update - Unitary Plan, and Submissions to the Long-Term Plan and Heritage New Zealand Draft Policies

MOVED by Member S Reynolds, seconded by Member D Veart:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)            receive the updates from Noel Reardon regarding the Unitary Plan, and the panel submissions to the Long-Term Plan and the Heritage New Zealand draft policies and guidelines

b)            thank Noel Reardon and the Auckland Council Heritage Team for their work on Pre-1944 building assessments.

Member B Rayner tabled a letter to the Heritage Advisory Panel. A copy of the letter has been attached to the minutes attachment.

10.2

Member L Wilson provided an update to the Heritage Advisory Panel that the Friends of St David’s has passed on positive feedback about their experience with the Heritage Advisory Panel.

Member L Wilson updated the Heritage Advisory Panel about the opening of the Portage Ceramic Trust.
