Otahuhu Business Association

 

Ms Richette Rodger, Commercial Manager Otahuhu Mainstreet and Commercial Association presented a power point presentation regarding service levels and service provisions in the Otahuhu town centre area.

A copy of the presentation has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Secretarial note:          For the Committee’s information, staff presented a powerpoint presentation to update the members on the Sturges Park project, Otahuhu. A copy of the presentation is appended under item 9: Parks, Sport & Recreation – General Manager’s report.

Pursuant to Standing Order 3.1.4 the meeting lapsed for want of a quorum. Pursuant to Standing Order 3.1.6 the remaining business was suspended.  The Chairperson set a meeting to deal with the remaining business for 1.20pm, Tuesday 9 June 2015 on level 26, 135 Albert Street, Auckland Central. The Democracy Advisor notified the remaining members of the committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 3.1.4, Members in attendance were:

Parks, Sports & Recreation - General Manager's Report

 

A copy of the presentation presented by staff in relation to the Sturges Park project for information has been placed on the official copy of the minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments.

 

Resolution number PAR/2015/37

MOVED by Chairperson CE Fletcher, seconded by Deputy Chairperson CM Penrose:  

That the Parks, Recreation and Sport Committee:

a)         receive the update report from the General Manager – Parks, Sports and Recreation

b)         agree that the General Manager Parks, Sports and Recreation respond to the following issues:

·         funding gap for Sturges Park, Otahuhu

·         sustainability sport progress in relation to sports grounds

·         request an update for the July 2015 committee meeting in relation to the Maori Sport and Recreation Plan’s consultation process including ongoing and current, as well as the timeline for the draft plan

·         update on Mt Richmond Park sportsfields

·         liaise with Auckland Transport and the Department of Infrastructure & Environmental Services with respect to resolving the issues identified by the Otahuhu Business Association.

Regional Parks Management Plan 2010 Variation to incorporate Te Muri Regional park

 

Resolution number PAR/2015/38

MOVED by Chairperson CE Fletcher, seconded by Deputy Chairperson CM Penrose:  

That the Parks, Recreation and Sport Committee:

a)      approve the initiation of a variation of the Regional Parks Management Plan 2010 to incorporate Te Muri Regional Park, and

b)      approve the appointment of an independent hearings commissioner to hear submissions on a draft variation and to recommend to the Parks, Recreation and Sport Committee a draft variation to the Regional Parks Management Plan 2010 to incorporate Te Muri Regional Park.

That the Parks, Recreation and Sport Committee:

a)      exclude the public from the following part(s) of the proceedings of this meeting.

The general subject of each matter to be considered while the public is excluded, the reason for passing this resolution in relation to each matter, and the specific grounds under section 48(1) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 for the passing of this resolution follows.

This resolution is made in reliance on section 48(1)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the particular interest or interests protected by section 6 or section 7 of that Act which would be prejudiced by the holding of the whole or relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting in public, as follows:
