That the Regulatory and Bylaws Committee:
a)
consider an extraordinary item
regarding dog attacks at Item 12.1 of this agenda:
i)
the reason the matter was not on the
agenda is that the TVNZ Sunday programme that addressed dog attacks did not
air until Sunday 2 August 2015;
ii)
the reason for urgency being the
considerable public concern around the number of incidences of dog attacks.

request that a report with
recommendations be presented at the next meeting of the Regulatory and Bylaws
Committee which assesses the extent of dog attacks in Auckland, and includes
statistics on dangerous dogs and dog attack complaints as well as
prosecutions, and the respective roles of Auckland Council and New Zealand
Police when handling the issue.
