PROJECT SUMMARY

PROJECT TITLE

Healthy Hobbies, healthy options and healthy Role Modelling

PROJECT SUMMARY

Single Parent families, mostly those without family support in New Zealand, join our group to build a supportive network that assists them to empower themselves, their youth and young children so they can be the best they can be. They build healthy relationships through healthy options including healthy hobbies while their youth can participate too which builds good relationships within families as they provide good role modelling. From here they take advantage of our other services and learn to network in the wider community. These families are otherwise isolated and it's important we do this in the area because our North Shore parents don't function well when not supported.

PROJECT SUMMARY

PROJECT TITLE

Milford Plunket Group Heat pump installation

PROJECT SUMMARY

Milford Plunket Clinic urgently needs a heat pump installed, to ensure the clinic is warm and dry for the families who utilize the service. The Milford clinic is a busy little hub, servicing families in the area.  Plunket Nurses see 15 new babies each month and will continue to see each child at regular intervals throughout their early childhood until they reach school age to assess growth and development, hearing, vision and wellness.  Well-child visits also include care and support for the whole family as they adjust to the needs of a new baby.  In addition the Karitane Nurse runs three educational groups during a child’s first year covering the introduction of solids, eating progress, mobility, safety and child well-being.

FUNDING FOR

We are seeking funding for part of the purchase and installation of the heatpump as soon as possible and we intend to supplement any support received with our ongoing fundraising activity.
