1          Apologies

 

Resolution number PAC/2015/64

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson S Hao'uli, seconded by Member R Pamatatau:  

That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from Members Rev Tevita Finau and Ofeina Manuel-Barbarich, Chairperson Sina Aiolupotea-aiono and Councillor Anae Arthur Anae for absence and from Member Sam Sefuiva for early departure.

2          Declaration of Interest

 

Deputy Chairperson Sefita Hao’uli and Member Apulu Reece Autagavaia declared an interest in Item 6 The Smoke free sector due to their involvement with ASH and the health sector generally.

 

 

3          Confirmation of Minutes

MOVED by Member L Tamu, seconded by Member R Pamatatau:  

That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting held on Wednesday, 19 August 2015 as a true and correct record.

That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)          agree that Item 6 be accorded precedence at this time.

The Smoke free sector

 

Stephanie Erick, Director ASH, Edward Cowley, Programme Manager Tala Pasifika and Leitu Tufuga, Community Engagement Leader Cancer Society provided a PowerPoint presentation and responded to questions from panel members. A copy of the presentation has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

 

 

Resolution number PAC/2015/67

MOVED by Member S Sefuiva, seconded by Member R Autagavaia:  

That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the presentation from the Pacific Health Smoke Free sector.

b)      thank the representatives for their attendance.

Note:               Member Sam Sefuiva retired from the meeting at 5.25pm resulting in the                                       meeting losing its quorum. The remaining agenda items were considered                                       informally.

Proposed set net and crab pot controls at Arkles Bay and Omaha Beach

 

This matter was discussed informally and it was agreed that panel members would provide their views on the options in the report individually to the report authors.
