1 Welcome and Karakia
Ken Kerehoma blessed the meeting with an opening Karakia.

Resolution number TE /2015/4 MOVED by Member G Thompson, seconded by Member K Kerehoma: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) elects Member CL Makoare as chairperson for the meeting deferring the election of deputy chairperson of the Te Oro Committee to the meeting on the 3 March 2016. |

5 Confirmation of Minutes
Resolution number TE /2015/6 MOVED by Member CL Makoare, seconded by Member K Kerehoma: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) confirms the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Friday, 4 September 2015, as a true and correct record. |
6 Leave of Absence
There were no requests for leaves of absence.
7 Acknowledgements
Member Ken Kerehoma referred to the loss of David Simmons, a well respected historian and author of New Zealand history who sadly passed away recently. David was instrumental in the revival of many Maori traditional activities. He will be sadly missed by New Zealand.
Member Ken Kerehoma referred to the loss of Jonah Lomu who left his mark across the world. Jonah's humility raised rugby, New Zealand, and Tonga to a standard that is acknowledge throughout the world. Oki oki e kara, ka ea!
Member Ken Kerehoma on behalf of the three iwi Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki and Ngāti Paoa would like to acknowledge Simon Randall as the very first chair of the Te Oro governance committee. Congratulations.
The Te Oro committee acknowledge Jenni Heka and the operations team for the work and achievements they have had since Te Oro’s opening.
