Purpose
1. The purpose of this report is to present an application for consideration to the Local Events Development Grant, transferred from Waitemata Local Grant Round One. The local board is required to fund, part-fund or decline this application.
Executive Summary
2. An application for the “Japan Day” event was received through the Waitemata Local Board Local Grants round one 2015/2016. Due to the limited budget available for local grants in round one, a resolution was made to refer the application to the local events development grant for consideration (WTMG/2015/6).
3. This event aligns with local board’s strategic priorities for events and has the potential to become an iconic Auckland event, as it is specifically aimed at a culture not currently represented by events offered in the Waitemata Local Board area.
