Resolution number PAC/2016/1 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson S Hao'uli, seconded by Member L Tamu: That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel: a) accept the apology from Tunumafono Ava Fa'amoe for absence; and b) accept the apology from Apulu Reece Autagavaia for lateness.

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

3 Confirmation of Minutes
Resolution number PAC/2016/2 MOVED by Member A Manoa, seconded by Deputy Chairperson S Hao'uli: That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel: a) confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Wednesday, 11 November 2015, as a true and correct record.

Resolution number PAC/2016/3 MOVED by Member R Pamatatau, seconded by Member L Tamu: That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel: a) receive the ‘Pacific newcomers – identifying areas for collaboration’ presentation from Mata Laumalili, Relationship Manager – Pacific Skills, Settlement Protection and Attraction Unit, Immigration New Zealand, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and Grant Power, Manager, Regional Migrant Skills Retention, Settlement Unit, Immigration New Zealand, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Resolution number PAC/2016/5 MOVED by Member O Manuel-Barbarich, seconded by Member T Finau: That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel: a) provides formal feedback on the draft Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group Plan 2016-2021; and b) invite the Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group back to present an update to the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel.

Resolution number PAC/2016/6 MOVED by Member L Tamu, seconded by Member R Autagavaia: That the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel: a) receive the introduction from Mike George, Auckland Council Communications Advisor, and accept communications and media support for the Pacific People’s Advisory Panel; and b) request Mike George, Auckland Council Communications Advisor, to liaise with Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development to procure economic based statistics to incorporate into a draft article on both the Pasefika festival and Polyfest which will be distributed to the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel ahead of the event dates.
