The chairperson opened the meeting and welcomed everyone present at 11.10am

Member K Kerehoma blessed the meeting with an opening Karakia

4          Confirmation of Minutes

Resolution number TE /2016/1

MOVED by Chairperson SD Randall, seconded by Member G Thompson:

That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board:

a) confirms the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 3 December 2015, as a true and correct record.

6 Acknowledgements

Member K Kerehoma acknowledge Dr Ranginui Joseph Isaac Walker DCNZM. Respected Māori educator, activist, writer and leader of Whakatohea descent was farewelled at Orākei Marae by thousands of admiring New Zealanders from all walks of life. Haere e te matua, takoto, okioki ai. Kua ea. Tātou e ngā morehu ki ā tātou.

12	Election of Deputy Chairperson
	Resolution number TE /2016/2 MOVED by Member T Moala, seconded by Member G Thompson: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board: a)      elects Member K Kerehoma as Deputy Chairperson to the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board for the rest of the political term. CARRIED

13	Te Oro Governance Committee of Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board
	Secretarial note: noting potential conflict of interest for Member Thompson in relationship to Ruapotaka Marae activity at the centre.
	Resolution number TE /2016/3 MOVED by Chairperson SD Randall, seconded by Member K Kerehoma: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board: a)      thanks Jenni Heka, Arts and Culture Facility Manager – Te Oro and Stephen Johnson, Manager Arts and Culture Facilities and Assets and Hanna Scott, Senior Programme Leader Arts, Community and Culture, for their attendance to speak to this item. b)      receives the quarterly update report. CARRIED

14	Proposed date change for June 2016 meeting
	Resolution number TE /2016/4 MOVED by Chairperson SD Randall, seconded by Member OO Unasa: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board: a)      agrees the 16 June 2016 as its new meeting date for its fourth quarter meeting. CARRIED

There was no consideration of extraordinary items.

Secretarial note: The meeting was closed with a karakia given by Member O Unasa.
