Item 28 Contributions Policy Feedback

Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board feedback on the Auckland Council proposal to vary the Contributions Policy (development contributions)

The Māngere‐Ōtāhuhu Local Board welcomes the opportunity to provide its views on the proposed variation to Auckland Councils Contributions policy:

Non-residential growth

In future the growth of Auckland Airport will significantly impact on the local area through traffic generation. Local targeted funding can be used to mitigate the local impacts; and

                Transport catchment areas

Boarding houses

The development and conversion of residential homes to boarding houses is increasing in the local board area. The cumulative impacts of this type of intensification are not addressed in the policy and therefore pressure on local parks, open spaces, transport and community facilities will not be adequate over future years.
