That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      receive and thank Morgan Borthwick, Libraries Advisor Inclusiveness for his presentation and request ongoing communication leading up to the celebration of the 30-year homosexual law reform.

Modification of signage to accessible toilets in Auckland Council office buildings, May 2016 update

 

Member D Matthews declared an interest in this item and took no part in the voting on the matter.

 

Note:   Changes to the original motion were made with the agreement of the meeting.

 

Resolution number RAI/2016/28

MOVED by Member A Hutcheson, seconded by Member D Rands:  

That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the update from Auckland Council staff on the modification of signage to accessible toilets in Auckland Council office buildings

b)      agree that the preferred sign of the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel is the “All Gender Restroom” sign on page eight of the minutes attachment

c)      request a report back on the pilot project to the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel meeting in June

d)      request that staff proceed with an inventory of all council office buildings

e)      request that staff proceed with a policy around the allocation of all gender bathrooms in new builds.

Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel Sub-committees update, May 2016

Resolution number RAI/2016/29

MOVED by Member L Matheson, seconded by Member D Matthews:  

That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the verbal updates from the community summit sub-committee and agree that the sub-committee will create a proposal to submit on the community summit event

b)      receive the verbal update from the 30-year homosexual law reform celebration sub-committee

c)      receive the Inclusive Engagement Guidelines document from the sub-committee (Attachment A)

d)      approve the Engagement Guidelines document with an amendment to include Pride as an Auckland based Community Organisation and GayTalk Tonight as an additional media outlet and send to Auckland Council’s Market Research and Engagement unit.
