Aaron McConchie, Lynn Whale, Reg Whale and Mark Perry were in attendance for this item. Those in attendance represented the Te Arai Beach Preservation Society, the NZ Fairy Tern Charitable Trust and the Surfbreak Protection Society. The representatives spoke in regard to concerns they have over a proposed subdivision plan which shows a realignment of Pacific Road at Te Arai which currently provides public access to the beach. The subdivision proposal seeks to relocate the public carpark from its current location to around 400 metres inland. The representatives tabled written information. A copy of the documents have been placed on the file copy of the minutes and can be viewed on the Auckland Council website. |

Resolution number RODTP/2016/21 MOVED by Member TP Grace, seconded by Member BP Houlbrooke: That the Rodney Local Board Transport, Planning and Infrastructure Committee: a) receive the Auckland Transport Update, May 2016. b) commit to detail design and construction of a footpath over reserve land at Riverhead Point, Riverhead, based on a rough order of cost of $62,700 for construction only, noting that this does not take into account design and consenting costs. c) request that the rough order of costs on the footpath priorities provided to Auckland Transport in February 2016 be completed urgently to enable the local board to make decisions on footpaths to be constructed with the Locally Driven Initiative funding in the Rodney Local Board area.
