1          Apologies

 

Resolution number RUR/2016/28

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson A Cole, seconded by Member TP Grace:  

That the Rural Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apologies from Member M Appleton,  Member D Blythen and Member NR Henderson for absence, from Cr MP Webster for lateness and from Chairperson Cr W Cashmore for early departure.

 

CARRIED

Cr MP Webster entered the meeting at 12.41 pm.

 

 

           

2          Declaration of Interest

 

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

 

3          Confirmation of Minutes

That the Rural Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Friday, 8 July 2016,  as a true and correct record.

Unitary Plan Update

 

Chairperson W Cashmore updated the panel on the adoption of the Auckland Unitary Plan and discussion took place. The text of the update has been attached to the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Manua whenua provisions on sites of high value - initial discussion

 

An initial discussion on the Unitary Plan mana whenua provisions on sites of high value took place.

 

Chairperson W Cashmore left the meeting at 1.16pm and Deputy Chairperson South, A Cole assumed the Chair.

Auckland Economic Update

 

Ross Wilson, Analyst, Research and Evaluation (RIMU), was present for this item.

 

A PowerPoint presentation was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

The Rural Advisory Panel in the next term

 

Discussion, led by Deputy Chairperson South, A Cole, took place on thoughts, ideas and suggestions about the Rural Advisory Panel in the next political term.

 

 

 

9          General Business

 

Arterial routes – Auckland Transport to be invited to talk about protection of arterial routes

 

UAGC and Transport Levy Remissions scheme – A reminder that people need to reapply in writing every year, future item to discuss simplifying the process

 

Dairy shed inspections – Richard to email Warren, who will find out who to discuss this with (possibly Patricia Burford), for a future item

 

Franklin Nitrate group, process and how it links to healthy rivers – Healthy Waters team will report to next meeting
