That the Whau Local Board Dog Access Review Panel:
a) elect
a Chairperson for the Whau Local Board Dog Access Review Panel, utilising System B of Schedule
7, Part 1, Clause 25 of the Local Government Act 2002.
b) elect member Catherine
Farmer as Chairperson for the Whau Local Board Dog Access Review Panel.

Hearing and deliberation report on proposed changes to local dog
access rules in the Whau Local Board area

That the Whau
Local Board Dog Access Hearing Panel:
a) in
relation to proposed changes to local dog access rules contained in the
document titled ‘Amendments to Auckland Council Policy on Dogs 2012
– Whau Local Board May 2016’ (Attachment A)
i) receive
the submissions in Attachment C - Submissions
ii) receive
all late submissions in Attachment D – Late Submissions
iii) hear the submitters who wish to be
heard in support of their submission.

MOVED by Member A Chand, seconded by Member R Manukia-Schaumkel:
That the Whau Local Board Dog Access
Hearing Panel:
c) adopt
the decisions recorded in the ‘Deliberation worksheet
– Whau Local Board area
(Attachment B)’ .
d) adopt
the amendments to the Auckland Council Policy on Dogs
2012 (Attachment A) with a commencement date of 29 October 2016.
e) delegate
to the panel chair the power to approve the decision report titled
‘Hearing panel decision report on local dog access rules in the Whau
Local Board area 2016’ to give effect to the decisions in (c) and (d).
f) delegate
to the Manager Social Policy and Bylaws in consultation with the panel chair
the power to make any minor edits to (c), (d) and (e) to correct any
identified errors or typographical edits.
g) request
the Governing Body to give effect to the decisions in (d) by making any necessary amendments
to the Auckland Council Policy on Dogs 2012 and Auckland Council Dog
Management Bylaw 2012.
