Re: Waikaraka Park's future
On behalf of Classic Cricket NZ Inc. who are a major user of Waikaraka Park during summer:
Our use is a minimum of 6 Sundays including a Tournament on the 3rd Sunday of January,
We are a stand alone organisation operating for the primary benefit of older cricketers, and
Therefore has a close association with Onehunga Cricket Association which has run Saturday cricket at Waikaraka Park since 1936.
We are aware of the value of increasing the summer capabilities of the Park and would support any option which does not disadvantage the current users. In fact we wish to promote an artificial pitch option which is low maintenance and compatible with current use. This option is Flicx pitches and we believe that they would be a good option at not only Waikaraka Park but all Council grounds.
Sincerely
Mike Ringrose
Chairman
