Laurie Ross made a presentation on her proposal on war-free zone and peace city. Her proposal is: That the Whau Local Board declares the Waitemata Harbour, Hauraki Gulf Islands and surrounding waters to be a War-Free Zone reinforcing the Auckland Peace City policy mandate. This means that: a) Wargames are not acceptable and mass warship visits are discouraged. b) Auckland Peace City will refuse to host events or provide support for the production, promotion or sale of weapons for warfare. c) Auckland Peace City will not do business with companies who produce nuclear weapons. |
