6.1 Bernadette Pereira
The Board acknowledged Bernadette Pereira who was elected as the new National President of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A Inc - a Pacific women's organisation and movement that spans all of NZ and has been empowering Pacific women in NZ for 41 years.
6.2 Neil Fisher
The Board acknowledged the passing away of Neil Fisher. Neil was a volunteer at the Papatoetoe Crimewatch Patrol.

Julian Bartrom and Aaron Tindell made a presentation to the Board on the health conerns of glyphosate spraying in public spaces and tabled documents in support of their presentation. Resolution number OP/2017/10 MOVED by Chairperson L Fuli, seconded by Member M Gush: That the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board: a) approve the Pacific Environments developed design for Te Puke o Tara Community Centre dated 8 November 2016 b) approve additional Local Discretionary Capital funding of $250,000 c) approve the procurement of construction within the budget available of $2,468,000. |

Resolution number OP/2017/12 MOVED by Member D Lee, seconded by Member M Gush: That the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board: a) note that the Community Response Fund for 2016/17 has a remaining balance of $20,292. b) agree to pay $10,000 from the Community Response Fund to the Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust, to facilitate the Eye on Nature event for 2017, subject to the trust entering into a funding agreement with the Council. c) request the trust to encourage participation by Ōtara and Papatoetoe students and that the Local Board contribution be acknowledged in the event signage.

Resolution number OP/2017/13 MOVED by Chairperson L Fuli, seconded by Deputy Chairperson R Robertson: That the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board: a) receive the performance report for the financial quarter ending 31 December 2016. b) delete work programme item 3781 (The Depot, Papatoetoe renewals $25,110), in light of the planned demolition of the Depot, and request Community Facilities staff to arrange any basic maintenance necessary in the meantime, to keep the Depot functioning for the needs of current tenants. |
