The Chairperson opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board:

a) accept the apology from Deputy Chair Saffron Toms for absent.

3 Declaration of Interest

Members were reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

8 Deputations

8.1	Deputation: EcoMatters update on "Engagement with new migrants groups through the discovery of the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area – Pilot Project"

	Simon Grant from EcoMatters provided an update on the “Engagement with new migrants group through the discovery of the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area - Pilot Project Report” funded by the Waitakere Ranges Local Board.
	Resolution number WTK/2017/3 MOVED by Chairperson G Presland, seconded by Member S Tollestrup: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) receive the deputation presentation from Simon Grant of Eco Matters and thank them for attending the Waitakere Ranges Local Board meeting. CARRIED

8.2	Deputation: Living Wage Aotearoa

	Yvette Taylor from the Living Wage Auckland was seeking a commitment from the board to support a Living Wage for both directly employed and those employed by contractors in the Board's submission to the Annual Plan.
	Resolution number WTK/2017/4 MOVED by Chairperson G Presland, seconded by Member D Yates: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) receive the presentation from the Living Wage Aotearoa and thank them for attending the Waitakere Ranges Local Board meeting. b) reaffirm its commitment to Auckland Council being a living wage employer and in particular: i) supports a Living Wage being paid to directly employed staff, and ii) supports a Living Wage for workers employed on a regular and on-going basis by contractors at Auckland Council and its CCO’s, including Auckland Transport. CARRIED

8.3	Deputation: West Auckland Pasifika Forum

	Michael Savelio and Jeremy Tauti from West Auckland Pasifika Forum provided an update on the Tula’i Tula'i Pasifika Youth Leadership Programme 2017 and acknowledged the board for their continued support.

Disposals recommendation report

Resolution number WTK/2017/7

MOVED by Member S Coney, seconded by Member D Yates:

That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board:

a) confirm its view that the reserve status of 315A Glengarry road, Glen Eden, should not be revoked and that the land should be retained and developed as a local park

b) note that surveys of open space provision by Auckland Council show that Glen Eden is under supplied with parks

c) note that much of Glen Eden is identified for intensification

d) note that the land would be suitable for community gardens and orchards, play equipment, other recreational activities and potentially a walkway

e) ask that these resolutions be conveyed to the Finance and Performance Committee and asks the Waitakere Ranges Local Board be allowed a deputation to the Committee.

Waiheke, Waitakere Ranges and Great Barrier Local Boards shared practice workshop

That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board:

a) approve any related elected member expenses for attending the Waiheke, Waitākere Ranges and Great Barrier Island Local Board’s shared practice workshop be provided for in line with the latest Auckland Council’s Elected Members’ Expense Policy 2014.

b) approve the costs for the Waiheke, Waitākere Ranges and Great Barrier Island Local Board’s shared practice workshop being divided between the three participating local boards and allocated to the related governance support budget lines.

a) endorse the urgent decision made by Chair Greg Presland to support Member Tollestrup to attend the Community Development Conference in February 2017

b) agree that any related expenses for attending the Community Development Conference 2017 be provided for in line with the latest Auckland Council's Elected Members' Expense Policy 2014.
