That the Upper
Harbour Local Board:
a) agree to provide the following feedback on the draft Air Quality
Bylaw for Indoor Domestic Fires in writing by 3 April 2017, and/or by
attending the local board hearings session on 19 April 2017:
i) support
the use of a bylaw to re-establish the regulations for indoor domestic fires
that were in the Auckland Council Regional Plan: Air, Land and Water 2010;
ii) support
the definition of the urban zone, as outlined by the Unitary Plan and the
Auckland Council District Plan: Hauraki Gulf Islands, to define the Auckland
Urban Air Quality Area;
iii) support
reinstatement of the former Regional Plan rules, as identified in the report
to the Regulatory Committee on 9 February 2017 at Table 2; and
iv) support
further investigation of regulatory measures around restricting the use of
prohibited fuels in domestic burners.
