Representatives from the St Heliers Bay Pony Club updated the Ngati Whatua Orakei Reserves Board on the following topics and tabled documents in support of their address: · The great progress the club has made with the commencement of the Te Arohanui Riding program · An extension of their current lease so they can attract members and finance the ongoing care and up keep of the land in the Pourewa Creek area · The challenges that the club is facing in regard to attracting and retaining members due to the limited time left on the current lease. A lease extension would allow them to source new members giving the club financial stability which in turn allows them to continue to provide the Te Arohanui Riding program · The inability to retain the Riding for the Disabled who are facing having to leave after 40 years due to the limited time left on the lease. Copies of tabled documents have been placed on the official copy of the minutes are available on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments. |
