Minutes of a meeting of the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board held in the Te Oro, 98 Line Road, Glen Innes on Friday, 23 June 2017 at 2.00pm and on Monday, 3 July 2017 at 2.00pm at the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board, 7-13 Pilkington Road, Panmure.

3 Declaration of Interest
1. Chairperson C Makoare and Member T Moala declared an interest in item 13, in particular the HEART Movement partnership and took no part in the discussions or voting on this partner.
4 Confirmation of Minutes
Resolution number TE /2017/6 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member J Bartley: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 23 May 2017, as a true and correct record. |

Resolution number TE /2017/7 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member D Burrows: That the Te Oro Committee acknowledge the passing of Dame Nganeko Minhinnick, who passed away at the age of 77 and express its condolences to Dame Minhinnick’s whānau. Dame Minhinnick lead a Waitangi Tribunal claim to clean up the Manukau Harbour. She was made a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2013 for her services to Māori and conservation. |

Resolution number TE /2017/8 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member D Burrows: That the Te Oro Committee acknowledge Nga Uri a Te Wai-o-Taiki kappa haka group on their trip in the Netherlands showcasing Māori culture and in doing so promoting Glen Innes. |

Resolution number TE /2017/9 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member D Burrows: That the Te Oro Committee acknowledge Parris Goebel a champion dancer and choreographer, recognised for her international success and her efforts to inspire Kiwi youth. Parris is the founder of ReQuest and Royal Family dance crews, who have won gold at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 and Silver 2011 & 2015. |

Resolution number TE /2017/10 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member J Bartley: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) agree to adjourn the meeting until Monday, 3 July - 2pm at the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board Office, 7-13 Pilkington Road, Panmure. |
The meeting adjourned at 2.20pm and reconvened at 2.20 on 3 July Members K Kerehoma and G Thompson were not present. |

Resolution number TE /2017/13 MOVED by Member J Bartley, seconded by Member D Burrows: That the Te Oro Committee of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) thank Stephen Johnson, Manager Arts and Culture Facilities and Assets, Jenni Heka, Facilities Manager, Hanna Scott, Arts and Culture Senior Programme Leader and Jason TeKare, Arts and Culture Programmer; b) receive the quarter two and three Te Oro Activity report; c) approve the following new proposed partnerships with Te Oro: · Mesepa Edwards · The Good The Bad Trust · Trust Me Limited · Tāmaki Media Collective · The Heart Movement / Pockets Full of Hope (Te Waipuna Puawai) · Revere3 · Joash Fahiatua;
d) approve the following in principle, with approval through the chairperson, pending confirmation of delivery organisation: · Creative Yoga · Creative Bike Kitchen; e) note that the partnership programmes are taking place in centre operating hours and that income generating hirage under the charter will take precedence over the Te Oro partnerships programme above. |
