Judy Gilbert representing Windy Hill-Rosalie Bay Catchment Trust and AoteaOra Community Trust was in attendance to provide the Great Barrier Local Board an update on Windy Hill Sanctuary: Goodnature A24 trap project and to inform the board of the end of her term as chairperson of AoteaOra Trust.

Approval of the Great Barrier Local Board 2017/2018 Civil Defence Emergency Management Work Programme |

Resolution number GBI/2017/91 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Johnson: That the Great Barrier Local Board: a) approve the 2017/2018 Civil Defence and Emergency Management programme (Attachment A of the report) for an investigation into an emergency water supply for the island ($15,000).

Approval of the Great Barrier Local Board 2017/2018 Local Economic Development Work Programme |

Resolution number GBI/2017/92 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Great Barrier Local Board: a) approve the 2017/2018 local economic development programme (Attachment A of the report) as follows. i) Visitor Strategy ($17,000) ii) Dark Sky Sanctuary ($20,000) b) agree to increase the budget for the Visitor Strategy from $10,000 to $17,000 with the difference funded from the LDI Community Response Fund.

Auckland Plan refresh 2018: early feedback to inform draft plan |

Resolution number GBI/2017/93 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Great Barrier Local Board: a) delegate the chairperson in discussion with board members to provide feedback, including any specific feedback on the challenges, opportunities, strategic themes and focus areas. b) note that the resolutions of this meeting will be reported back to the Planning Committee when it meets to decide on direction to inform the draft Auckland Plan on 1 August 2017 c) note that there will be further opportunities to provide feedback on the draft plan as council continues through the refresh process during 2017.

Resolution number GBI/2017/94 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Great Barrier Local Board: a) note the content of the report Auckland Transport Update – July 2017. b) request that Auckland Transport prepare a rough order of cost for the following projects: i. continuing the Hector Sanderson walkway to the Cross Roads and from the Police Station to Claris shops and ii. a walkway from the Cross Roads along Whangaparapara Rd to the hot springs.

Resolution number GBI/2017/95 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Great Barrier Local Board: a) note the correspondence for the month of June 2017. b) thank Bill Carlin and June Brookes for their correspondence and asks that the Department of Conservation (DoC) and Auckland Council officers provide an urgent update to the board on the proposal for a joint DoC/Auckland Council project to eradicate the plague skink from Great Barrier Island.
