Resolution number RAI/2017/1 MOVED by Member L Matheson, seconded by Member D Rands: That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel: a) accept the apology from Cr R Hills for absence on council business, and B Kilmister for absence.

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

3 Confirmation of Minutes
There were no minutes for confirmation.
4 Extraordinary Business
Pursuant to Standing Order 2.4.6, the meeting agreed to discuss the following subject: the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel’s ability to support the Auckland Pride Festival Board in a formal way, at Item 11 – Consideration of Extraordinary Items.

Resolution number RAI/2017/3 MOVED by Member D Rands, seconded by Member L Matheson: That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel: a) record its decision, made on 12 June 2017, to appoint Jules Radford-Poupard and John Kingi as co-chairs of the Panel for the 2016-19 term b) note that the co-chairs’ term will end in September 2019 with the completion of the Panel’s term, one month prior to the 2019 local government elections.

Resolution number RAI/2017/4 MOVED by Member D Hati, seconded by Member M Clunie: That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel: a) receive the update regarding community hui and provide feedback. b) approve the use of the allocated budget of $20,000 in the 2016/17 financial year for organising community hui with rainbow communities c) agree that the outcomes of the rainbow community hui will guide and support the development of the panel’s work programme for the term.

Resolution number RAI/2017/5 MOVED by Member A Hutcheson, seconded by Member D Rands: That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel: a) receive the update on council strategies, policies, and bylaws which the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel has provided advice and feedback on.

Resolution number RAI/2017/6 MOVED by Member A Hutcheson, seconded by Member J Watson: That the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel: a) receive the update about all-gender toilet signage b) support in principle the roll-out of all-gender toilet signage c) recommend the inclusion of braille, in accordance with the Blind Foundation’s accessible signage guidelines d) request that communication is carried out with stakeholders.

11 Consideration of Extraordinary Items
Pursuant to Standing Order 2.4.6, the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel agreed to discuss its ability to formally support the Auckland Pride Festival Board.
Lexie Matheson, panel member and Auckland Pride Festival Board member, led the discussion. The following points from the discussion were noted:
· The support sought is non-monetary and could be in the form of a letter of support for the board and its activities.
· The panel agreed that any formal support for the board should come from the Liaison Councillor with the panel’s endorsement.
8.20 pm The Chairperson thanked Members for their attendance and attention to business and declared the meeting closed.
