opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

5 Leave of Absence
There were no
leaves of absence.
6 Acknowledgements
The Waitakere Ranges Local Board acknowledged the passing of Lynda
Williams who lived for many years in McEntee Road, Waitakere, and was a great
lover of the Waitakeres. She was a strong advocate for women and babies,
founding several support groups and working for many years as a childbirth
educator. She attended all DHB meetings for the three DHBs and widely
disseminated her critiques of health sector management, policies, ethics and
medical practice. Lynda died on 6 July. She left 5 children and 6
grandchildren.

Auckland Plan refresh 2018: early feedback to inform draft plan

That the Waitākere
Ranges Local Board:
a) delegate
the provision of local board feedback, including any
specific feedback on the challenges, opportunities, strategic themes and
focus areas to Chair Greg Presland and Deputy Chair Saffron Toms.
b) note that the feedback will be reported back to the Planning
Committee when it meets to decide on direction to inform the draft Auckland
Plan on 1 August 2017
c) note that there will be further opportunities to provide feedback
on the draft plan as council continues through the refresh process during
2017.

Research and Teaching Ltd (ANZCCART) Conference 2017 "Maintaining Social
License in a Changing World"

That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board:
a) approve
Member Henderson’s attendance to the Australian and New Zealand Council
for the Care of Animals in Research and Teaching (ANZCCART) Conference 2017
to be held on 2nd September to 4th September as a part of Queenstown Research
Week.
b) agree that any related expenses
for attending the Australian and New Zealand council for the Care of Animals
in Research and Teaching (ANZCCART) Conference 2017 be provided for in line
with the latest Auckland Council's Elected Members' Expense Policy 2016.
