Chairperson Gillon, opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

4 Confirmation of Minutes
Resolution number DTCF/2017/24 MOVED by Member J O'Connor, seconded by Member J McKenzie: That the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board: a) confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 6 June 2017, as a true and correct record.

Stephen McLuckie – Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD), Linda McPhail, Bayswater Primary teacher and pupils of Bayswater Primary, Ruby, Jemah, Iona, George, Luka and Paegan were in attendance to address the board regarding their ideas on the Lake Road improvements.
A copy of the presentation has been attached to the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Jade-Ceres Dolor was in attendance to address to the board on creating a ‘little free Library’ in the Milford Beach area. Jade-Ceres Dolor explained the concept of the Library and gave examples of its success overseas and in some tourist areas of New Zealand. A location suggested for the ‘little free Library’ to be investigated was on the Milford Reserve between the public conveniences and the playground. Brigid Curran, Devonport Community House Coordinator was in attendance to introduce herself to the board and give an update on existing and new programmes/initiatives for the 2017/2018 year ahead.

Sarah Bloomfield, Vivan Ward and John Walsby were in attendance to address the board on the understanding of the biological systems of our coastal ecology and were opposed to the beach grooming process.
