Anne McLaren was in attendance to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding parking enforcement at Rawene Carpark, Birkenhead.
Petition Prayer: “In July 35 long term car parks where sectioned off in the Rawene Car Park following a decision by Auckland Transport to lease them to Waid Construction. The impact on businesses has been costly and time consuming. With three major construction projects currently underway the pressure on what little car parking there was is now even worse as construction workers compete with local businesses to find somewhere to park. Business workers are being fined every two hours if they’re unable to move their cars in time. When they do try to move them, there’s nowhere to move them to. We collectively ask Auckland Transport to put parking enforcement on hold in the Rawene Car Park while construction is impacting the availability of car parks.” A copy of the petition was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes. |
|
Resolution number KAI/2017/43 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson J Gillon, seconded by Member P Gillon: That the Kaipātiki Local Board: a)
receive the petition from Anne McLaren
regarding the current loss of carparks in the Rawene carpark and thank her
for her attendance. b) forward the petition to Auckland Transport and request a report back on mitigating the parking issues identified within the petition.
